Gary holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara, with M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the same university.
During his 32 years at Boeing, Gary enjoyed the creative and collaborative opportunities he was provided. His various innovations (290+ U.S. patents) not only served Boeing programs, but also helped win contract R&D programs from the USAF, USN, NASA, TTCI, and the FAA. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing, and a regular keynote speaker, having promoted the importance of NDE&M in Spain, Singapore, Germany, Brazil, China and France, as well as the U.S..
On a personal note, he has been married to his beautiful wife Lori for 36 years, and has three adult children and two granddaughters. He holds a Masters in Theology from Fuller Seminary, and is the founding and senior pastor of a local church (est. 1990), with a focus on serving the poor and disenfranchised, and making a difference in people’s lives.
